Expressive therapies, such as music therapy and sand tray therapy, are often used at Marworth to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals in addiction treatment programs.

Music Therapy

By creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music, our certified music therapist helps groups of patients strengthen their natural abilities and transfer them to other areas of their lives to aid in addiction recovery. Music therapy also provides avenues for communication for those who find it difficult to express themselves in words.

By manipulating sand and figurines in a tray to build miniature scenes and landscapes, patients have the opportunity to portray feelings and experiences that are difficult to verbalize.
