Preparing for your stay
Thank you for choosing Geisinger Marworth to support you in building a life in recovery. We know entering treatment is a big step filled with unknowns. This guide helps you understand what to expect and how to prepare for your time with us.
What to expect during your stay
- Length of stay
You should expect to be at Marworth for about 28 days. However, your length of stay is clinically determined — your treatment team will assess how long you need to best support your recovery. Insurance coverage may also influence your length of stay. - Your care team
When admitted, you'll be assigned a primary counselor who will partner with you throughout your stay to ensure your needs are met. With your permission, we'll share your counselor's contact information with your loved ones. - Daily program
Our structured program runs 7 days a week. You'll participate in scheduled therapies and activities, with breaks for meals, studying, exercise and meditation or prayer. Participation in all scheduled activities is required to complete the program.

What to pack
Luggage limit: 1 carry-on suitcase and 1 overnight bag
Clothing: Bring 5-7 days of machine-washable, casual clothing. Limited closet space requires this restriction — it doesn't reflect your length of stay. Laundry facilities and detergent are provided free of charge.

Arrival & check-in
When you arrive:
- Park in the front circle for easy unloading
- Ring the doorbell and let us know you're here for admission
- Front desk check-in – Have your ID and insurance card ready
- Luggage handling – We'll tag your belongings and collect medications for nursing staff
- Paperwork – Complete necessary admission forms
- Team meetings – Meet with nursing and admissions staff
- Security screening – Your belongings will be searched (standard safety procedure)
